T. STYLE [In RH margin]
IN THE NAME OF GOD OF HIS ONELY and most beloved sonne Jesus Christ my lord and only Saviour Amen
I Thomas Style of London merchant being in reasonable good health and of good and sound memory thankes be given unto the Almighty god therefore I doe make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and forme following That is to saye
FFIRST and principally I commend my Soule unto the hands of the Almighty god in full assurance of the free redemption of all my sinnes and offences and onely by and through the merritts death and passion and glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ my only Lord saviour & redeemer And soe conceiving my body XXXX with a good and free hearte I give it over commending it to the earth from whence it came not doubting but according to the truth of our fayth at the greate day of our henerall resurrection when we shall all appeare at the great Judgem:t seate of Jesus Christ I shall receave it againe by the mighty power of god wherewith hee is able to sXXXX all things unto himselfe not a corruptible weake and in all ??poverty like unto the most glorious body of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ my body I will to be buried in decent and Christian manner without haveing any ?herraulds at my funerall And my will is that theire bee so many poore men as I shalbe yeares old at this present being seaventy five yeares old in black gownes and to give to every poore man a peece fifteene shillings and my will and pleasure is that theire bee thirty poore men of Edminton town and twenty poore men freee of the Skinners company to be appoynted by the masters and Wardens of the company of Skynners
And concerning such temporall goods as it hath pleased this Almighty to bestow uppon me I doe devise and dispose of as followeth
That is to say I give & bequeath to my sonne Thomas Style a Thousand pounds which I promissed to leave him at my death according to an agreement betweene Sir Maurice Abbot and my selfe
ITEM I doe give and bequeath to my sonne Thomas Style five hundred pounds more as a legacie, and fifty pounds to my sonne John Style for a legacie Nyne hundred pounds to be paid him at the end and tyme of his apprenticeship when it shalbe expired And for the bond which I stand bound to M:r Cradocke in five hundred pounds for my sonne John Style his true services to his master when my sonne John Stile shall bring in my bond of 500:l unto my executor hereunder named That uppon receipt of the same bond That my executor shall pay unto my sonne John Style for a legacy over and above his childs parte 900:l which will be due to him according to the custome of the Citty of London, more I give to my sonne John Style ffiftie pounds which my wife desired me to give him, at her death Alsoe I doe give to my lovinge daughter Sarah Style for a legacy the somme of sixteene hundred pounds over and above what her childes part will come to according to the custome of the Citty of London,
ITEM I doe give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Style fiftie pounds which her mother desires me to give her for a legacie
ITEM I doe give and bequeath to the Company Skinners to twenty poore men free of the Skinners company twenty shillings a peece the Clarke and the two beedles to be three of them
ITEM I doe give to Nyne poore men or poore widdowes every Sunday in the yeare a two penny loafe of wheaten bread a peece in Edmonton, and to be such persons as shalbe
