Overview
This page provides a list of known Kent gentry & manor houses in 1640-1669 within two parts of Kent
These two parts are:
(1) An areas in North Kent area formed roughly by a triangle of Sevenoaks, Maidstone and Rochester
(2) An area in East Kent formed roughly by a triangle of Canterbury, Dover and Sandwich.
The intention of this page is to provide contextual information on possible gentry and other socially and/or commercially significant residents of these areas with whom the Oxenden and Dallison families may have had contact or of whom they would have been aware.
The list is inevitably partial, and does not seek to be a source for statistical analysis. Data are frequently from single sources and have not yet been verified.
