The nyneteenth day of November 1655./ [CENTRE HEADING]

The Lord Protector against the shipp the hare}
in the ffeild (John Keine Master Budd}

Examined upon an allegation on the behalfe of hendrick
Mathias and others Claymers in this cause./

Peter VandePut of London Merchant aged 44 yeares
or thereabouts a wittnesse sworne and examined saith and
deposeth as followeth videlicet.

To the 15th article of the sayd allegation hee saith and deposeth that hee well
knew the arlate Solomon Goris for some yeares next before the birth
of the arlate herman Goris, by reason the says Solomon was some yeares
next before his marriage a servant to this deponents father, and hee saith
hee hath knowne the sayd harman Goris from his birth and saith hee is an
Englishman borne and a subiect of this Commonwealth and was
commonly reputed to be the sonne of the sayd Solomon Goris by the arlate
Mary his wife And hee saith the sayd harman was borne in Gratious
Streete London at the house of Mr John ffortie the father of the sayd
Mary with whome the sayd Solomon and his wife then soiourned And
hee saith hee well knoweth that the sayd Solomon Goris about the tyme
arlate did take a howse in dukes place London where hee lived to the
tyme of his death which was about 6 or 7 yeares since And this deponent
alsoe well knoweth that the sayd harman Goris for the most part of his
lifelived with his sayd Parents in dukes Place and else where in England
And futher to this article hee cannot depose/

Uppon the rest not examined by direction of the producent/

To the first Interrogatorie hee answereth negatively to every part thereof

To 2 Interogatorie hee answereth that hee came to testifie the truth of his knowledge
touching the birth of the sayd herman Goris, at the request of the sayd harman
And to the rest of the Interrogatories hee answereth negatively./

To 3 and 4th hee saith they concerne him not to answere thereto hee having
not deposed to the articles in these Interrogatories mentioned/

twenty yeares or thereabouts a wittnes sworne and
examined saith and deposeth as followeth videlicet

To the first article hee saith hee knoweth not the arlate Keech and therefore
cannot depose thereto../
