Transcription

quoth the Captaine I perceive you would have made more bills if I
had not taken you. yes answered the said Goris, that wee would
at all which this deponent was present and heard the same And
otherwise hee cannot depose.

Upon the rest hee is not examined by direction of Mr Budd the producent.

To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first hee saith that hee belongeth to Captaine Sannders and
severth him in his cabbin and is yeoman of his stores aboard the said
frigot, and was soe at the time of the said surprizall, And otherwise
hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition.

To the second negatively.

To the third hee hath not soe deposed.

To the fourth hee cannot answer.

To the 5 and 6 hee hath not soe examined.

To the 7 hee saith hee doth not knowe the persons interrogated.

To the 8th hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition.

To the 9th negatively.

To the 10th hee hath not soe deposed.

To the 11th hee saith hee was not sent aboard the hare in the feild.

To the 12th 13 and 14 hee referreth himselfe to his foregoing deposition.

To the 15 hee saith the said master at the time when Captaine Sannders
demannded for more papers after hee had given him the said parcell
did not speake of any that were in his pocket, but said
hee had noe more than those that were soe delivered to the Captaine.

To the 16 hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition.

To the 17th hee saith that the said harman Goris came aboard the
Tyger frigot about two of the clock in the morning after the
said seizure, and that the chase of the hare began about tenn of the
clock the night before as hee remembreth the time. And otherwise hee
referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition.

To the 18th and 19th hee hath not soe deposed.

To the 20th negatively.

To the 21. 22. 23. and 24 hee is not soe examined.

To the 25 negatively.

To the 26 hee saith hee cannot speake any language but English,
having bin in Holland hee understandeth some dutch, and saith the said master
of the hare John kein spake in broken English.

The foresaid Captaine Sannders to the Interrogatories in the Orange tree [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first hee answereth, saying hee was Captaine of the Tyger.

To the second hee saith that many of the papers were ffrench and some
Portuguese, and hee referreth himselfe to the said papers
remayning in this Court.

To the third hee saith hee this deponent delivered the papers to the Major
of Portsmouth to be sent to the Commissioners for prize goods and the Major sealed them
up, and since this deponent hath seene them in Mr Budds hands, and
otherwise hee cannot answer saving as aforesaid.
