Transcription

To the first Interrogatorie hee saith hee well knoweth the shipp the Michaell of London Interrate
when shee was last at Palma hee this deponent being the Interrogate Thomas Tymon
the then master thereof and saith shee was last there in the Moneth of May last videlicet [?1655]
and was bound from thence for Galloway in Irelan, and departed from Palma
aforesayd about the latter end of the sayd moneth of May And further
to this Interrogatorie hee cannot depose./

To the second Interrogatorie hee saith there were before such her departure from Palma
there laden on board the sayd shipp by one Stephen Spicer factor of the producent
Michaell Spicer and for Accompt of him the sayd Michaell about fowerscore
pipes of Canary Wynes and a parcell of sassaperilla and other druggs, and some
Brazill wood and fustick, the quantitie of them hee knoweth not but saith the sayd
shipp being about 40 or 50 tonne the particulars expressed were [?her ?whole]
ladeing, and were all of them laden at Palma in the moneth of May 1655 for the proper Accompt of the sayd
Michaell Spicer and to be transported to Ireland or England for his Accompt
And hee saith the sayd Michaell was sole owner and Proprietor of the sayd
goods And saith that shee being laden therewith
departed thence videlicet from Palma for Galloway aforesayd the premisses hee deposeth being Master of
the sayd shipp and seeing the same soe done as is predeposed And otherwise hee
cannot depose/

To the third and 4th Interrogatories hee saith that the sayd shipp being
soe departed from Palma did with her sayd Cargo safely arive at Galloway
in Ireland in the moneth of June 1655 where shee discharged soe much
of her sayd wynes as amounted to the value of fower hundred pounds sterling
and having soe done this deponent departed with her and her remayning cargo
from Galloway to the dirst port hee could fetech of Wexford or Waterford
in Ireland according to order by him receaved to that effect from the sayd
Michaell Spicer And hee saith that in such her course of proceeding shee
was upon Sunday the 22th of July last sett upon and seized by a Brest
man of warr and by him carried togeather with her remayning cargo of goods
videlicet all which shee brought from Palma (except the sayd 400 li worth of wines
delivered at Galloway which was about forty pipes) to Roscoe in ffrance where
the same was all confiscated and made prize and soe became utterly lost to
the producent Michaell Spicer And saith his this deponents voyage to Wexford
or Waterford was made with intent to sell the rest of the saud
goods undisposed of at Galloway and that the same was surprized upon the
Coast of Ireland not farr from Wexford aforesayd The premisses hee
deposeth being master of the sayd shipp and on board her and being carried
a prisoner by the sayd seizure to Roscow aforesayd and there seeing the hoods
soe seized in the possession of and at the disposall of the sayd takers And
further hee cannot depose/
