divers goods to be unladen from aboard his sayd shipp John and Elizabeth
and delivered into the hands and possession of the arlate Peter Probee and
Edward Watts, and
verily beleeveth hee the sayd Keene intended to have reladen them when
hee had fitted and repayred his shipp and to have proceeded to the Canaries
if he could have procured Mariners at Saint Lucars to have gone the sayd
voyage with him for that hee this deponent heard the sayd English Consull
at Saint Lucar say that the sayd Keene had hyred two dutch men and a
Scotch man to goe with him on his voyage to the Canaries but that they
had broke open the sayd Keenes Cabbin and solne his money and runne
away from him And further to this article hee cannot depose
To the 7th and 8th article of the sayd allegation hee saith hee well
knoweth that the sayd Edward Keene hearing that this deponent and
the rest of the Company of the Anne Pinke of Bristoll were at Saint
Lucar and had left their sayd shipp in manner aforesayd hee the sayd Keene did come
to this deponent and the rest of the sayd Company andw ould have hyred
them to goe for Palma arlate and offered to give them any wages fitting
for the same but this deponent and the rest of the sayd shipps company
redused to goe the sayd voyage and told him they would goe noe
voyage but for England, and if hee the sayd Keene had any desyne
to returne with his vessell for England they would willingly serve
him but otherwise not whereupon the sayd Keene seeing hee could not
get any mariners to proceede on his voyage to Palma did keave
his lading which hee brought from England
at Saint Lucar with the sayd Mr Watts and Mr Probie who
seeing the sayd Keene could not get mariners who were
willing to proceede on the voyage to Palma aforesayd laded the sayd
Keebes vessell with other goods to be transported to London and this
deponent and the rest of the Compay of the sayd Pinke Anne
thereupon shipped themselves with the sayd Keene and sayled his sayd shipp John and Elizabeth
back for London with the sayd goods soe laden by Mr Watts and Mr Probie And
further to this article hee cannot depose
To the 9th saving his foregoeing deposition to which hee referreth
hee cannot depose
To the 10th hee saith hee knoweth the arlate Mr Probee and Mr Watts
and saith they are English Merchants and are accompted in Saint Lucar arlate
to be men of good accompt and repute and further to this article saving
his foregoeing deposition hee cannot depose/
