Transcription

as alsoe when they were delivered out of the said shipp
into the said Lighter, and that whatsoeveer damage came
unto the said Raisons Soles, came unto them after
they were delivered out of the said shipp the George, And
further he cannot depose saving that he hath heard
that the barrells of Raysins Soles which the said Lighter
received in from the said shipp the George was much
wett and damaged by the said Lighter.

To the ninth article he deposeth that when the said
Lighter did come to the said shipps side this deponent had
some suspition of her and did aske if she was a good
Lighter and that one of the Lightermen answered she was
a good or a very good Lighter And further he cannot
depose Saving that he hath heard since the damage happened
unto the goods in question, that before and since that time
other Merchants goods have bin damaged by her./

To the tenth he cannot depose.

To the eleaventh he referreth himselfe to his former deposition
And further cannot depose./

To the 12th 13th and 14th articles he referreth himselfe to
the Lawes, and to the Registry of this Court And further
cannot depose

To the last he saith his former deposition is true.

To the Interrogatoryes. [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first Interrogatory he answereth that he commeth to testify
in this cause at the request of the producents, and that it will
bee neither profitt nor losse to him which side soever prevayle
And to the rest he answereth negatively./

To the second Interrogatory he answereth that he knoweth not by
what name the Lighter that came to the shipp the George her
side is called, that it was about the midst of ffebruary she soe
came to the said shipp and stayed there three dayes to the
best of this Rendents remembrance, and that in that time
she did not receave any water unto her, but yet that this
Rendent did not well like her And further he cannot answere

To the third he cannot answeare.

To the fourth Interrogatory he answereth that the shipp interrate was
somewhat leaky at her arrivall here in the River of Thames
but that there was not any of her lading damnifyed thereby
and he answereth that none of the sayd Raysons Soles were
any ways wett when they were delivered into the Lighter
interrate. And further he cannot answeare

To the fifth, sixth and seaventh Interrogatoryes he knoweth not
to answeare./

To the eighth Interrogatory he saith that he being on board the said shipp
(as he hath predeposed) when the said Lighter came to her side
and he the deponent not liking the said Lighter asked if she
was a good Lighter, and that one of the Lightermen
that then came with her answered, that she was a
good or very good Lighter, and had delivered many a
shipp, or words to that effect, And he answereth that
that was all that he this Rendent heard any of the sayd
Lighters Company say or speake And further he cannot answeare
