Transcription

To the fifth Interrogatory he answereth that the goods interrate
were laden aboard the said shipp at Marseillis some by
Isaac Lanson an hollander and some by the Agents of
the Sollicovers, but none by frenchmen or subiects of the
ffrench king and that the said shipp and goods were
consigned to haverdegrace interrate, there to be delivered
but to whom he saith he knoweth not And otherwise he
cannot answeare Saving in her course from Marseillis
unto haverdegrace she was intercepted./

To the sixth Interrogatory he answereth that the said shipp went with
her lading first to Allicant in Spayne where she delivered
out some goods and from thence unto Marsellis where she
unladed the rest All which her Lading was taken in at
hamborough, And that the goods at Marsellis were [?delivered]
unto the Agents of the Sollicovers for their Accompt
and alsoe for the accompt of the said Scotright, Longerman and other hambourgers and that the names of the Agents of the Sollicovers the Owners
were alsoe Sollicovers And further he cannot answeare.

To the seaventh Interrogatory he answereth and saith that there was
noe Charter party for the voyage interrate, and that the Master
was to receive his freight according to the bills of Lading./

To the eighth Interrogatory he answereth that himselfe was the Purser
the name of the Boatswaine is Michael Martens and Andrew
hinck the steersman, And that he this Rendent firmed or
signed noe bills of Lading, and that he knoweth not of anu that
was firmed or signed for the goods interrate but by the
Master and the Counterparts by the Merchants,
And he saith that there were not any goods aboard
for which there are not bills of Lading signed saving
such goods as are the shipps Company And further he
cannot answere.

To the ninth Interrogatory he answereth that the paprs left in
the Registry and now showne unto him were aboard and
belonging unto the said shipp at the time of her seizure
and that besides the said papers, he knoweth of noe more
papers that belonged unto the said shipp then the Passeport
and the Manifesto exhibited in the deposition of his precontest
Jacob hinsey, which said Manifesto is all of this Rendents
handwriting and was by this Rendent delivered to
the said hinsey of purpose to be exhibited intoo this Court
And further he cannot answeare./

To the tenth Interrogatory he answereth that the papers and writings
brought into the Registry as belonging to the sayd shipp
such as are bills of Lading belonging
unto the aforenamed Scoternight and the Sollicovers are true and [?reall GUTTER] but
he saith for the other bills of Lading he knoweth not whether
the contents thereof are true, though subscribed for true./
And he further saith that the said shipp went from
hamborough to Allicant and from Allicant to Marsellis
And further he cannot answeare, being she was in her
course from Marsellis unto haverdegrace seized on./

To the last Interrogatory he answereth and saith that he very well
knoweth the handwriting of the said Jacob hinsly the Master
and that the words Jacob hinsly subscribed unto the two
notes interrate are the proper handwryting of the interrate Jacob
hinsley, and that the contemnts of both the said notes are true.
