Transcription

1649 as he still is an Apprentice with the sayd James Stanier, hee
well remembreth that the sayd English manufactures were
bought and sent to Cadiz for the accompt of the sayd Paulus
Cobrisse, and saith that the bills of lading now showne him
or others of like tenor were sent from Bridges by the Packquet
boat to this deponents sayd Master in order to make the sayd Clayme
as he att present remembreth.

To the Crosse Interrogatories - [CENTRE HEADING]

To the 1. 2. 3. 4. 5 6. 7 8 9 .10. 11. 12 13. 14. 15. 16. 17. 18. 19. 20. 21.
22. 23. 24. 25. and 26. he saith he noe way belonged to the sayd shipp
nor was att Cadiz, nor saw the sayd sylver laden nor bills of lading
signed, nor knoweth or beleiveth that any subiect of the States of the
United Provinces or ffrench King had or hath any interest in the
sayd sylver nor hath he this Rendent any manner of Interest therein
or any manner of relation to the producent. but saith he was
borne and liveth in London and there hath constantly resided for
theis 7 yeares last past, and by fame and letters understands that
Pedro Calvo is an Inhabitant of Cadiz and further to this
deposition he cannot depose.

To the Crosse Interrogatories in the 2d place. [CENTRE HEADING]

To the 1. and 2. he saith he knoweth not the Lawes and Customes of Spaine
but hath heard It is some danger to lade sylver without license
and that the sayd danger notwithstanding great quantityes thereof
are so laden yearely without any losse or property therein to
the true Owners. And further cannot depose.
