subscribed with the proper handwritinge f the sayd Cornelis
Nieuporte, for that the sayd Nieuport was master of the sayd shipp by the
space of three yeares or therabouts before her castinge away
and within that tyme this deponent hath seene a great many of his
subscriptions to bills of ladinge and other writings which is very like
in the Character to the subscription to the sayd bill of Ladinge, and
that the same bill is faythfully translated and the translation therof
doth substantially agree with the originall which he knoweth becasue
he hath compared them togeither and understandeth both the English and
the Spanish tongues, and that another of the sayd schedules, the
translation of a parte wherof thus beginneth An abstracte of a letter
and subscribed your lovinge friend Dionisio Pottean, is as this
deponent verily beleiveth subscribed with the proper hand writinge
of the sayd Pottean, for that he hath received above fourtye letters
of his handwritinge which are agreable and very like in the
Character to the subscription to the sayd lettes and that the
sayd translation doth very well agree in the effecte with a parte of
the originall letter in Dutch out of which it is translated, And that
another of the sayd schedules beginninge thus. To all Christian people
is sealed with the seale of the towne of Dover, which was sett on
the sayd writinge in the house of the Maior of the towne of Dover
in this deponents presence, and he beleiveth that the contents of all the sayd
schedule before mentioned are true, and were really done as
