Text formatting

The MarineLives transcription platform is built on MediaWiki, which uses wiki markup to format text. Adding footnotes

  • Go into edit mode
  • Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

said voyadge hee departed this life in
Virginia or else where in the parts
beyond the Seas And otherwise for
theire parts they doe not beleeve the
said position to bee true in any
parte thereof

To the sixth pretensed position they and
every of them answer and beleeve
that these Rendents have bin re
quired to the effect arlate and that
they have refused to satisfie the same
for iust causes ut credunt.

To the seaventh pretensed position they
answer that for theire parts they nor
any of them doe not beleeve the
said pretensed position to bee true in any
parte thereof/

To the eight pretensed position they answer
and referr themselves to the Registry
of this Courte
