the Lord Embassador of holland, aged 25 yeares<br />
or thereabouts sworne and examined.
To the first and second articles of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth<br />
that hee well knoweth the producent Mat[?urin] P[?e]llicot and hath soe<br />
donne for theise five yeares last or thereabouts, and saith hee is an<br />
Inhabitant of Amsterdam and soe hath bin for all the said time of this<br />
deponents knowledge of him, dwelling there in the [?Xingle]. and<br />
a burgher of that citie, and there maried to the daughter of Charles<br />
Van P[?XXX] of the same merchant, and for all the said time the said<br />
[?Maturin] hath bin and is a merchant of good fashion and dealing and<br />
a subiect of the lords the States of the United Netherlands, and for such<br />
as aforesaid hee hath bin for all the said time and is commonly accompted<br />
and reputed, which hee knoweth being alsoe a native of Amsterdam<br />
where this deponent was well acquainted with him. And having<br />
seene severall attestations from Amsterdam touching the said<br />
[?Maturin] and others. [?XXXXXXX] in this Court hee saith that the<br />
same are mmost of them sealed with the seale of Amsterdan and subscribed by the<br />
SEcretary of the same, whose subscription hee well knoweth, and<br />
that others of them are under the seale of leyden, and hee well<br />
knoweth as hee saith that the magistrates of those places doe not<br />
grannt or give out such attestion without due knowledge first<br />
by them had of the truth of the matters certified, and saith the<br />
same use to passe not only in Holland, but in Italy, Spaine<br />
ffrance and Germany and other places for full proofe of the matters<br />
therein contained. And otherwise hee cannot depose, saving that the said<br />
Embassador of Holland hath severall letters from the States touching<br />
the truth of the matters contained in the said certificates.<br />

To the first hee saith hee was borne at Amsterdam and hath dwelt<br />
alwaies in holland saving what hee hath bin in travailing and some<br />

To the second hee referreth himselfe to his foregoing deposition, and cannot<br />
otherwise depose.
To the rest hee saith hee cannot depose, not being in the voyage<br />
nor knowing ought thereof, nor any other of the parties arlate.
