To the third and fourth articles he cannot depose./
To the fifth article of the sayd allegation he deposeth and<br />
saith that he the deponent and his Partner this present yeare freighted<br />
severall shipps to Norway and hath used that trade many<br />
yeares, and he saith that it is the custome of the deponents certaine<br />
knowledge and experience [?XXX] the said trade for Merchants<br />
to receive and allowe upon account with the Masters<br />
a long halfe deale for a whole deale, and alsoe two<br />
peices for a whole deale and most especially he saith it is<br />
allowed unto Swinsound deales in regard that they are<br />
the most slabby and ill conditioned deales that come out<br />
of the whole Countrey, And he further deposeth that<br />
the busines now in controversy being by both parties litigant<br />
agreed upon to be putt unto arbitration and he the deponent<br />
being chosen by the producent for one of his Arbitrators<br />
was intrusted and informed touching the whole busines<br />
and upon his shewing him the deponent the bill of loading<br />
of the said deales arlate or a copy thereof, it did appeare<br />
to him this deponent that it was a very fayre and<br />
honest accompt and by the sayd Beale the producent<br />
And further he cannot depose./

To the seaventh article he deposeth and saith that the producenta nd his Owners are<br />
damaged by the nonpayment of the money due to them<br />
at least lx ''li'', in his this deponents iudgement, who hath<br />
many parts in shipping, and therefore knoweth that the<br />
producent hath much suffered in having his shipp lying<br />
idle for so long And further he cannot depose.
To the eight, ninth and tenth articles he referreth himselfe<br />
to the Lawes. And further cannot depose/
To the last he saith his former deposition is true/

To the third article he answereth that his precontest Richard<br />
Grassingham told this Rendent that he had viewed the<br />

producent shewed this Rendent, And further he<br />
cannot answeare./
