merchant aged eight and thirty yeares<br />
or thereabouts a witnes sworne and examined.
To the first article of the sayd allegation this deponent saith and deposeth<br />
that he this deponent being att Cadize in the yeare 1647. there saw the arlate<br />
shipp the ''Sampson'' being then a new shipp, arrive the arlate Otto George<br />
being master of her, by whom this deponent did then understand that<br />
the sayd shipp was built at Lubeck and bought by him the sayd Otto<br />
George with the moneyes and for the Accompt of the owners hereafter<br />
mentioned which hee this deponent did then likewise heare from some of<br />
th eOwners themselves. And saith that from that tyme untill this present<br />
the arlate Vincent Van Campen, John da Windts, ffrederick Bevia<br />
Robert Jacomo, Otto George and Don Joseph ffrancis Peralti were<br />
and are Owners each of them severally of one eighth part of the<br />
sayd shipp her apparell and furniture, and for such have bene<br />
and are accounted, and for and during all the sayd tyme, the arlate<br />
Daniell da Leon and ffrancis Penninqr have bene and are Owners ioyntly<br />
of one other eighth part. And saith that the arlate Peter Vanderbecke<br />
a fflandrian from the tyme of the first buying of the sayd shipp to the tyme<br />
of his death which happened two yeares agoe, or thereabouts was Owner<br />
of one other eighth part, And this deponent hath heard that the arlate<br />
Cornelius Leyman since the death of the sayd Vanderbeck bought<br />
the sayd eighth part of and from the heire or heyres of him the sayd<br />
Peter Vanderbergh as is arlate; All which premisses as by him [?XXXX]<br />
now deposeth this deponent knoweth having had familiar conversation<br />
with the sayd Owners, and having seene and knowne that the sayd<br />
Otto George as Master of the sayd shipp hath given Accompt of [?severall]<br />

that the sayd Peter Vander beck was borne att Courtray in fflanders, and<br />
of this deponents knowledge lived sixteene yeares next before his death in<br />
Spaine, And saving that the arlate Cornelius Leyman was a native of<br />
Antwerpe, and this Rendent hath knowne him an Inhabitant of Sevill in Spayne<br />
