To the 21 hee saith that hee knoweth not otherwise that the said Peter [?Elers]
is an owner but by his supplying of the Sampson aforesaid with
necessaries for his shipp, and never sent him the said master make any accompt
to the said Peter as owner.
To the 22 hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition and cannot
otherwise answer.
To the 23 hee saith that hee is not a married man but a seafaring person
for wages, and therefore hath noe constant dwelling, hiring himselfe from one
port to another as hee findes conveniencie for wages for his subsistence, and
that hee hath bin here in London about 12 weekes last and lodgeth nowe
at Mr Swanes at Saint Catherins./:-
To the 24 hee saith that hee went from Amsterdam to Cadiz in the said shipp
the Sampson about foure yeares since, at which times the warrs betwixt
Spaine and holland were surceased; And otherwise negatively saving as
aforesaid.
To the 25 hee answereth negatively.
To the 26 hee hath not doe deposed.
To the 27 hee saith that the said shipp the Mercury was the time aforesaid
a pinnace of about 180 lasts, hamburgh built, and the Prophet Elias
was alsoe a pinnace and otherwise hee remembreth not.
To the 28 29 and 30 hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition.
To the 31 hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition
And cannot otherwise depose.
To the 32th hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition.
To the 33th hee beleeveth and hath heard that severall shipps belonging to
severall subiects of severall states and princes doe often meete and trade
at one and the same port of a foraigne prince or state in amitie
with them, and afterwards depart to severall ports.
To the 34 hee saith that hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition,
And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the 35 hee hath not soe deposed of any Lord of delf, nor knoweth the
preson, and otherwise hee cannot depose, saving his foregoeing deposition.
To the 36 hee hath not soe deposed.
To the 37 hee hath not soe deposed.
To the 38 hee cannot depose.
To the 39 negatively.
To the 40 hee saith hee is noe Judge, and if hee were hee should Judge
according to the lawe which hee nowe understands not in the case in question./
To the 41 hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition and cannot otherwise
answer.
To the 42 negatively for his part.
To the 43. hee saith hee is a seafaring man, and otherwise negatively.
