Transcription

To the 7th hee was last at Amsterdam in the yeare 1651. and what
estates of Brokers or Innkeepers there are or may be this deponent cannot
declare, nor of such as lodge or entertaine Skippers or strangers but saith
that such qualitie or profession doeth not render any person incapable of
being a partner in a shipp, if hee have wherewith to procure the same
And further hee cannot depose:-/

To the 8th hee saith, This deponent according to his foregoeing deposition to which hee
referreth is fully assured, that the first voyage the shipp Sampson
interrate made after her originall building was from Lubeck to
Cadiz in Spaine where this rendent first saw her in the yeare 1647:- and not to
Amsterdam, And saith shee hath made two or three Voyages to Amsterdam
out of Spaine, as hee hath heard, and once saw her there. And further cannot
depose

in the moneth of June 1652. and continued there till October next en=
sueing, but was not at all that yeare at dunquirke, and last saw the shipp the
Goulden Sunn interrate about the moneth of June aforesaid at her departure
from Cadiz for fflanders as is predeposed./

To the 13th hee saith, by Vertue of his Oath, That hee this rendent had noe
intelligence or notice of any silver laden aboard the shipps interrate at Cadiz
which was for the accompt of any Amsterdammers or any others of the United
Netherlands, And that hee this rendent had not, nor knew of any direction
for Assurance, having not deposed of any letters sent from fflanders or elsewhere in [?XXX XXXX XXXX]
And saith hee doeth not know nor beleeve in Conscience, That any of the
States Generall of the United Netherlands or of their Subjects have any
interest or concernment in the silver so assured as by him is predeposed or
any other silver laden in the said shipps or any of them:- And further
cannot depose./
