Transcription
Buckingham were in viewing and estimating the said pile
of Deales, the said Buckingham hath with his shipp made a voyage to
Newcastle and backward here to London above a fortnight
since, and that therefore he beleiveth the said Beale and his Owners
have suffered damage to the value of about xl li by the reason of
the nonpayment of what is due unto him from the sayd
Goodwin and Langdon, And further he cannot depose.
To the eighth article he deposeth that he the deponent was present
when the producent did demand of the said Goodwin and
Langdon the ust summe of Lxiiij li xv s being the remainder of
what was his due for the freight of the said deales
and that the sayd Goodwin and Langdon made answear that
he should not have a farthing more then what he could
recover by Law, and bad him to take his course/ And
further he cannot depose.
To the ninth article he saith that the arlate Gooding and
Langdon are Inhabitants in the parish of Stepney and subiect
to the Jurisdiction of this Court./.
To the tenth article he referreth himselfe to the Registry
of this Court And further cannot depose.
To the 11th he saith his former deposition is true./
To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first Interrogatory he answereth that he was none of
the Company of the Providence the voyage interrate./
To the second he answereth that he was not present at the
delivery out of the deales interrate And further he
knoweth not to answeare./
To the third Interrogatory he answereth, that he the Rendent and
the sayd John Buckingham did take the said pile
of deals by estimate, as he hath predeposed, And further
referring himselfe to his former deposition he cannot
answeare.

of Middlesex Shipwright, where he hath lived about
nyne yeares last past, aged about 45 yeares
a wittnes produced and sworne and being examined
deposeth as followeth
To the first article of the sayd allegation he deposeth
and saith that the arlate Symon Beale the producent
is and hath bin for all the months arlate of the
deponents certaine knowledge master of the arlate
shipp the Providence of London, and commonly accounted
and reputed a part-Owner of her, And further to
the said article he cannot depose.
