Biographical synthesis
William Allen (b. ca. 1632; d. ?). Mariner.
Sailed on the ship the Edward (Master: Roger Younge) in a voyage from late 1654 from London to ffial in Portugal, to New England, to Virginia and back to London, arriving home in August 1655.
Resident in 1656 in Billeter lane in the parish of Saint Catherine Creechurch.
Evidence from High Court of Admiralty
Twenty-four year old William Allen deposed on January 21st 1656 in the High Court of Admiralty. He was examined on an allegation on behalf of Winchurst in the case of "Winchurst and Yong against Andrewes".[1]
