IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN This Thirtieth of October one Thousand Six Hundred and Seventy One I John Portman now Residing in Quedah in India being sickly but in good and perfect memory And calling to mind the uncertaine Estate of this Transitory life Doe make Constitute ordaine and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following Revoaking and annulling by these presents all and every Testament and Testaments Will and Wills heretofore by me made and declared either by word or writing And this to be taken for my last Will and Testament and noe other

IMPRIMIS I committ my Soule unto Almighty God my Saviour and Redeemer and my Body to the Grave to be buried decently.

As for my Estate I order and dispose it in manner and forme following

I give and bequeath To my Brother George Portman ffifty pounds I give and bequeath to my sister Hannah Portman Tenne Pounds I give and bequeath to my sister mary Portman Tenn pounds I give and bequeath to M:r John fflatman ffive pounds I give and bequeath to ??Mulleck ?Mawund Two hundred and Thurty Rupees to be paid in Surat The Remainder of my Estate (the prementioned Legacies being paid) I will and desire may safely and carefully be sent and Delivered to my ffather M:r John Portman of London Goldsmith And
