JAMAICA. IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I ffrancis Man of the Island of Jamaica aforesaid Merchant being in different good health of body but in perfect soundnesse of minde conisdereing the uncertainty of this life doe make this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following

IMPRIMESS I commend my soule into Almighty God beleiveing stedfastly the pardon of my sinns through the infinite merritts of my blessed Lord and Saviour Jeus Christ

ITEM I doo revoke renounce make null and void all former Wills by me made at any time before

ITEM I doe give and bequeath unto my deare and loveing brother M:r Samuell Man of London Grocer all that my one fourth or quarter parte of that Plantacon and ground comonly called Marchants Valley and formerly knowne by the name of Coveneyes hole containeing in all seaventeene hundred and twelve Acres of land most of it being maintained by two patents one in the name of Jn:o ?Noyce for fifteene hundred Acres and the other in M:r Sam: Lewis and myn name beaing date the [BLANK IN ORIGINAL] scituate lying and being in the parish of Saint Catherines in the Island aforesaid with all my fourth parte of all Negroes Servants horses Cattel ?xxxx fowles or other stock whatsoever belonging to the said plantaton and of all tooles utensills necessaries and appurtenances thereunto belonging xxxxing and accounting all the negroes and servants xr stock that is at John Ellis plantacon where wee now ?live ?to appurtance thereunto and alsoe all that my halfe of the Boysary land contained in Two Pattents in M:r Lewis and my name One for one thousand Acres and theother for two hundred fifty and six Acres beearing date the [BLANK IN ORIGINAL] and alsoe all that my halfe parte of another parcell of Land in S:t Elizabeth Parish to Leeward q:t xxxx xxxx one thousand and fifty Acres as per the Pattent in the M:r Lewis and my name bearing date [BLANK IN ORIGINAL] And all that parcell of Land at ?Perrces Savana in the parish of Clavendon q:t one hundred sixty and six Acres patented in my owne name And that Plantaton at Seaven Plantatons which I purchased of Robert ?Sliver and David Williams with the old Cocoa Walke and ground thereunto belonging bought by my Bro:r of ?Cob Doyly which is his owne with the Negroes thereunto belonging as ?Hector Maria his Wife ?Bette and Moll Rich:d and Johnson their Children and Jacke a man Negroe with ?Goulaloo who is a kinde of a Planterer and workes with us and one Mare and one horse Colt fower yeares old and three other Colts running with the same Mare and are in the ?Cearole and on horse called Robin all which belong to that plantaton as alsoe a Mare and three Colts more which I had of Jn:o Hewit for Cocoa farmes ?I lent him which are alsoe with ?Cearole All and singular the premisses I give and bequeath to my said brother and his heires for ever

ITEM my Will and desire is that the Negroe Womon called Marthah which is our house Negroe with her Pickenninie though shee belonged to the plantaton at seaven plantatons may bee and remaine to M:r Sa: Lewis forever

ITEM I give and bequeath to M:r Lewis aforesaid all that my halfe parte of eight hundred and eighty Acres of Land at Morant which hee sold me some time past

ITEM my Will and desire is whereas one M:r Fountaine that is settled in the North side hath laid an order the Governour gave me in exchange for one hundred feete

ITEM whereas M:r Samuel Lewis owes me as by his hand and seale dated [BLANK IN ORIGINAL] my will and desire is That my brother Sam:ll Man doth not trouble molest or sue him for it in two yeares for that I know hee will pay it soo soon as hee cann

ITEM I doo freely Release & Acquitt and discharge my Cozen An: Crofts of all hee owes me as by his bond and my books onely hee is to pay the interest of the X100 of his Mother

ITEM my Will and meaneing is and I doe give and bequeath my deare and loveing Mother M:rs Ann Man One hundred pounds per Annum soe long as shee lives to bee paid her by my said brother Samll Man out of the estate I leave in Jamaica

ITEM I give and bequeath to my sister ?Lastell One hundred pounds to bee paid her in eighteene Moneths after my decease

ITEM it is my earnest desire That what I owe to any person or persons in England or in Jamaica may bee first satisfied and paid before any thing else as to M.r Hen: Powell of London to whom I owe as by my Bond sent him and as by my books for goods sold here of his and I desire his goods unsold bee sent him home According to his directions as fifty pounds to M:r Jn:e Lewis Silkman and X100 to Coz: Sara Crofts which is all I owe in England and for debts here I doe not owe above li 100 in small debts made in partnershipp with M:r Lewis And one hundred twenty five pounds I have given my bond to pay Mr Thomas Hudson which is in parte of two hundred and ninety pounds for the Negroes bought of Mr Tho: ??Snapell

ITEM Whereas Mr Lewis will have the whole trouble of the management of the farme of Mr Elkins as mine and brother S Mans business which will wholly take upp his whole time my desire and advise is as it is but reasonable that spending his time in buisness that but halfe his That my brother do allow him one hundred pounds per Annum towards howsekeeping and Charges of sick people that must bee in his howse Lastly I desire my body my bee decently interred According to the discretion of Mr Sam:ll Lewis whoe I doe hereby make my Executor in Trust or Overseer of this my last Will and Testament in the behalfe of my brother Sam:ll Man of London whoe is my Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I doe give to Mr Lewis and his Wife and Coz: An Crofts twenty pounds each for mourning and in Testament I have hereunto putt my hand and Seale this fower and twentyeth July One thousand six hundred seaventy fower
