Abstract & context

Sir Abraham Shipman wrote to Sir George Oxenden in a letter dated December 20th, 1662.

In this short letter, Shipman asked Oxenden for the use of the ?Sn:a Pinnace. Shipman understood that the ship had become available from the Mallabars, and though scarcely more than a hulk, he could make use of it (presumably for private coastal trade). He offered Oxenden reasonable commercial terms.
