"Being one of the Company of the Samuell and assisting as much as might be to have prevented the sayd disaster".[1]

Resident in 1656 in Stratford Le Bow in the county of Essex.
Evidence from High Court of Admiralty
Forty-five year old John Johnson deposed on October 13th 1656 in the High Court of Admiralty.[2] He was examined on an allegation on behalf of William Lee, the master of the coal ship the Samuell of London in "A businesse of exámination of witnesses to perpetuall remembrance promoted by William Lee the master of the shipp called the Samuel against Otter, late master of the shipp the Providence, and against all other".[3]
