HCA 30/636/3
This page is the home page for volunteers working on HCA 30/636/3 materials
The sub-category HCA 30/636/3 consists of one document, which is a well preserved leather bound account book belonging to Andrew Hardey (also written as Hardee), master of a ship named the Abraham.
The book is in Andrew Hardey's own hand and contains the accounts for his voyage, a schedule of wages for his mariners, and various notes about the voyage.
Everything else remains for the team to find out!
We can tell you that Andrew Hardey died in 1637 in Middleburg, shortly after the arrival of his ship the Abraham with a lading of tobacco from Barbados. You can read Hardey's will (PROB 11/174/472], a copy of which is at the National Archives in Kew and is also available online, just waiting to be transcribed and explored.
