  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

Petrus Joy civitatis London mercator, annos natus 30te
aut eo circiter.

Ad 8um arlum et secundam schedlam annex [?XXXXXXX] [?XXXXXX] et
deponit that hee this deponent is assistant in Merchandize to the said arlate
Mr Marisco, and liveth in house with him, and hath soe bin and don for these
five or six yeeres last and hath written for that space in his Counting house and
bin privie to his letters and transactions, and thereby knoweth that hee
hath bin and is a correspondent as a Marchant with the arlate Gaspar
Roberts, and hath received severall letters from him of this deponents sight
and knowledge, and in particular the said second schedule or letter
dated 12 of January last, this deponent seeing the
same on or about the 16th of ffebruary last, and well knowing it to be of the
said Roberts his hand, and saith the same is a true and reall letter and
[?containeth] to the effect arlate, he referring himslefe thereto, and
saith the shipp [?Winefat] therein mentioned is the same shipp mentioned
in the processe of this cause Et alr nescit; saving that the ordinary
space of time of letters comming from Stockholme for London by
the post is three weekes or a moneth, and what this deponent hath
understood from the Skipper of the Winefat touching the time of the
shipps seizure, the same seizure must in all probabilitie have happened
some weeks before the sayd Roberts had any notice of the said seizure.
