  • Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

Richard Ellis of the parish of Saint Peter the Poore London
Merchant, aged 43 yeares or thereabouts sworne and examined

To the first second and third and 4th articles and first schedule annexed hee saith and deposeth that hee
well knoweth the pproducent John Simms and well knew the arlate david
Bellfore in his life time who hee saith was master of the shipp the Anne
Speedwell arlate and alsoe well knoweth the arlate Jospeh Lambell, and
saith that in or about the moneth of August 1649, the said shipp ariving at
Oratavo in the Canaries, the said Mr Lambell being then at
Lalagunne in the Iland of Teneriff about 15 English miles distance from
Oratavio, wrote to this deponent who was then at Oratavo, and desired
him to demannd of the said Belfore the said master, two bales of stuff, and
a parcell of pipestaves, and one barrell of nailes
