went a passenger to Bilboe in the sayd shipp and to other Merchants

at the Barbados by Captaine Christopher Mings}
Commander of the Marston ffrigott in the imiddiate}
service of his highnes the Lord Protector Suckley}

Examined on an allegation on the
behalfe of the sayd Ninian Williamson
dated the 17th of September 1658/

Daniell Jeggles of the parish of
Saint Olave in Southwarke Mariner
Master of the sayd shipp the Mary of
London aged thirty eight yeares or
thereabouts a wittnesse sworne and
examined saith and deposeth as followeth videlicet
To the first article hee saith thta in the moneth of October 1657
the arlate Ninian Williamson did cause th arlate shipp the Mary
to be bought at Amsterdam for his Accompt, by William davidson
his factor there as hee the sayd Williamson told this deponent And shee
being soe bought hee well knoweth the sayd Williamson sent over this
deponent and some English Mariners to take care of her the better to
secure her from Spanish men of warr And this deponent in the sayd Moneth
of October by order of the sayd Williamson went over to Amsterdam and
at Memelick which is neere thereto there tooke the care and charge of her as Master and carried English
Mariners with him thither and this deponent and his sayd Mariners having
taken charge of her the sayd davidosn as factor of the sayd Williamson
fitted and prepared the sayd shipp upon the proper charge Accompt and
adventure of the sayd Williamson for a voyage to the Barbados./
To the 2 article of the sayd allegation
buying of the sayd shipp the sayd William davidson as factor and Agent
of the sayd Williamson and for Accompt of him the sayd Williamsom did
lade and put on board the sayd shipp Seaventy horses a parcell of
Linnen, brandywine, hatts and other Commodities this hee knoweth
for that hee sawe the same laden and as Master of teh sayd shipp signed
bills of ladeing for the same And saith that in his this deponents Judgement
and Estimate the sayd shipp horses and other ladeing soe laden aboard could
not nor did cost the sayd Williamson or his sayd factor lesse than three
thousand pounds sterling And further to this article hee deposeth not/
