halfe of powder before the same was soe spoiled was worth five pounds
sterling at least And further hee cannot depose/

To the 18th hee saith hee well knoweth that by reason of the damage
predeposed the shipp Imployment arlate did loose at least a weekes
tyme of her imployment in which tyme (the winde and weather favouring)
shee might have performed half a voyage to Newcastle soe that her
Owners by the sayd stay were damnified to the value of twenty
pounds sterling at the least in this deponents Judgement and estimate And further
to this article hee cannot depose./

To the 19th hee saith all the dammage predeposed of happened to the
Imployment by reason of her resting upon the Anchor of the James
and Martin which was occasioned meerely by the negligence and
Carlelessnes of the Master and Company of the James and Martin and by their
lying at Anchor without a boy and lyinge alonge the River almost
quite watershott which shee ought not to have done And further
hee cannot depose/

To the 20th and 21th hee saith hee referreth himselfe to the Registrie
of this Court And further cannot depose/

To the 22th hee saith his foregoeing deposition hee cannot
further depose hereto./

To the 23th hee saith hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition
and to the lawe And further hee cannot depose/

To the 24th hee saith hee beleeveth the arlate Stafford and Company are
Englishmen and subiects of this Commonwealth and subiect to the
Jurisdiction arlate And further hee cannot depose./

To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true/

John Parson of Ipswich in the County of Suffolke Mariner
aged 32 yeares or thereabouts a wittnes sworne and examined
saith and deposeth as followeth videlicet/

To the first hee saith hee knoweth not the name of the Master of the James and
Martin arlate nor his person but hath heard that one Phillip Stafford was
Master of her in the moneths of September and October last on the first day of which moneth
of October in the evening the dammage in question happened And further to this article
hee cannot depose./
