Transcription

To the 7th hee cannot answere not knowing of or haveing heard any
such thing as is Interrogate./

To the 8th hee saith that hee knoweth that for these two or three yeares last
past the ffishermen of ffeversham have used yearely to watch the griunds
in question about MIchaelmas tyme and for some tyme before yearely to prevent any
but such as are ffishermen and tennants of the Mannor and hundred of ffeversham
from fisging there and soe hinder others when they take them soe doeing
and saith in that kinde they tooke the sayd John Eaton and cutt his trawl[?s]
as aforesayd and in like sorte tooke the sayd haycocks boate And
further hee cannot answere to this Interrogatorie./

To the 9th hee answereth that about two yeares
since hee this deponent being taken dredging for oysters upon the grounds
in question by the ffishermen of ffeversham, had a subpena or writt
out of the Exchequer served upon him for soe doeing, but
there was noe further prosecution of the busines that this
rendent ever heeard of, neither did hee anyway compounde for
the same And further hee cannot answere./

To the 10th hee saith that hee knoweth nothing touching the sealing and delivery
or subscribing the schedule Interrogate, but saith there is one John Rippin[?gale] and
Ambrose Bettensell who are Inhabitants of Stroude And further hee
cannot answere./

To the 11th hee saith that hee hath knowne spratts and herrings usually
catched in the grounds Interrogate and knoweth spratts and herrings doe
come in thether usually most yeares And hee this deponent hath
divers tymes when hee serbed the sayd Yonge, about twenty yeares
and better since, fished and catched herring and spratts in the sayd
grounds and knoweth that many other ffishermen within these
twenty yeares last past have divers yeares fished and catched
spratts and herrings in the grounds Interrogate, and beleeveth spratts
and herrings staye there as longe as they ususally doe in other places And
further hee cannot answere/

To the last hee saith hee hath satisfied the contents thereof before/
