Transcription

To the 12th hee saith hee cannot answere knowing nothing as
touching any Ensurance./

To teh 13th hee answereth negatively./

To the 14th hee saith there is much goods aboard the sayd
shipp the Switzer besides those claymed as may appeare plainely
by the schedule annexed to the allegation and mentioned in the
7th article thereof And further hee cannot answere not
knowing what growth or manufacture the goods in question
are./

Examined upon the said allegation

John Henrick Bekemir[?ze] of Lubeck in Westfalia Mariner
Purser of the shipp the Switzer aged 26 yeares or thereabouts
a witnes sworne and examined saith and deposeth as followeth
videlicet

To the first article of the sayd allegation hee saith that hee well knoweth the
arlate Joachim, Lawrence and david Zollicoffer of Saint Gallo in Switzerland
and Paule :Langerman of hamburrough
for about these three yeares last past have bin and still are commonly
reputed and accompted the true and lawfull Owners and Proprietors of
the shipp arlate called the Switzer and of her tackle and furniture this
hee knoweth being purser of the sayd shipp the voyage whrein shee was
seized and having alsoe heard soe much from divers merchants and seamen
at hamburgh and other places And further to this article hee cannot depose

To the second third and fowerth articles of the sayd allegation hee saith that in or about the
Months of March and Aprill 1655 the arlate Joachim, Lawrence, and david
Zollicoffer, Mathias Zollicoffer and habce Conrade Zollicoffer of Saint
Gallo in Switzerland and John [?Scrothering] did by henry Zollicoffer John
Lewis Zollicoffer Bartholomew and others their factors resideing at
Marsellis there lade on board the sayd shipp the Switzer
fiftie seaven chests of soape of the first marke in the

margent for the ioynt accompt and adventure of the sayd Joachim, Lawrence
and david Zollicoffer, and forty three chests of soape of the second

and twenty chests of soape of the third marke un the maargent for the Accompte and

chests of the fowerth marke in the margent for the Accompt and Adventure of the arlate Hance Scrothering makeing in all
