A businesse of Examination on the behalfe of Garrett}
Johnson Statefast John Popin and Company}
Owners of the shipp the Greene ffoote of Amsterdam}
of which the sayd garrett Johnson Statefast is Master}

Examined upon certayne Interrogatories given
in on the behalfe of the sayd Garrett Johnson
Statefast John Popin and Company

Claes Jacobsen of the Scalamoot in Waterland in North
holland Mariner aged 24 yeares or thereabouts a
witnes sworne and examined saith as followeth videlicet

To the first Interrogatorie hee sith hee knoweth the shipp Greene ffoote
ans was Cooke of her the coyage wherein shee was seized and saith shee
belonged and doth belonge to the Port of Amsterdam in holland and that
the producents Harrett Johnson Statefast and John Popin are two of the
Owners thereof and soe reputed, and who else are owners thereof hee knoweth
not and saith the sayd Owners are subiects of the states of the United Nether
lands And further to this Interrogatorie hee cannot answere

To the second Interrogatorie hee saith hee was Cooke of the sayd shipp at the tyme of
her seizure and saith there was about sixe or eight chests of sugar
on board the sayd shipp Greene ffoote at the tyme of her seizure which seizure
was made neere a place called the Bridge in the Narbadoes by certaine
English shipps under the Command of Admirall Penn, And saith the Master of
the sayd shipp Greene ffoote and Company (of which this deponent was one) were
all sett a shoare in the Barbathoes by Command of the sayd Admirall Penn
who tooke the sayd shipp and her ladeing aforesayd then on board her and disposed thereof at his owne will
and pleasure, and this deponent and one other of the sayd shipps company came
for England in two English shipps, and the rest of the sayd shipp Greenefootes
company remaine still (as hee beleeveth) at the Barbadoes And he saith the
ship Greene ffoote is of the burthen of about fifty lasts and who were
owners of the goods seized hee knoweth not And further to this Interrogatorie saving
his foregoeing deposition hee cannot answere./

To the third Interrogatorie hee saith that hee well knoweth that soone after the sayd
shipp Greene ffoote last before her seizure arrived at the Barbadoes with her ladeing now controverted
the Master thereof went in his shipps boate ashoare and (as hee afterwards
upon his returne on board told this deponent and Company of the shipp) obteyned
licence of the Governor of the Barbadoes that hee might freely trade there
and unlade the merchandizes in his sayd shipp and freely dispose thereof And further
saving his foregoeing deposition hee cannot answere./
