Transcription

are from time to time required of him as a Merchant to and for the service of this State
and for such a Merchant and Subject the said producent was and is
well knowne and commonly accompted, The premisses this deponent declareth
for that this deponent hath for all the time predeposed dwelt in and related
to this Citie, and hath had and still hath familial acquaintance with the said
producent and severall others Merchants in this City to whom the producent
is well knowne to bee as by him this examinate is predeposed And
further hee cannot depose:-/

To the rest hee is not examined by direction of the producent./:-

To the CRosse Interrogatories:- [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first hee saith, That hee this rendent is a Native of Caen in
Normandie, and hath lived in London for all the time interrate, And
otherwise negatively/:-

To the second hee saith hee cannot answer otheriwse then negatively:-

To the third hee saith the interrate Richard Le Bas is commonly
accompted a Native of Caen in Normandie, but for the particular
parishes of this Citie wherein the said Le Bas hath lived, hee saith hee
cannot remember nor recollect them, being not versed in their names, And
otherwise saving his foregoeing deposition hee saith hee cannot depose:

To the 4th hee saith the interrate Richard Le Bas hath a brother residing
at Caen in ffrance, And further hee saith hee doeth not know neither
can hee declare./

To the 5th hee saith, hee knoweth nothing thereof/

The same day Examined upon the said Allegation:-/ [CENTRE HEADING]

Edward Bisse of the parish of Saint Leonards East
Cheape London draper aged 26. yeares or thereabouts
a Wittnesse sworne and examined saith as followeth
videlicet./

To the 4th article of he said Allegation hee saith and deposeth, That hee
this deponent hath knowne the arlate Richard le Bas for about 9
yeares last past during all or most part of which time the said Le
Bas hath lived and resided here in London, and hath for about 4. or
5. yeares been a Merchant acting and trading upon his owne accompt
and esteemed and reputed generally a Subject of this Commonwealth
and in that quality hath payd and doeth pay such dues and dueties as
from him are required in the quality or notion of a Merchant here
residing, This deponent having for all that time had very good and
familiar acquaintance of and with the said producent, and having
lived with him for some part of that time in one and the same house
in the parish of Saint Leonards East-cheape-London And further
cannot depose./
