To the fourthArticle of the sayd Allegation this deponent saith that after the
lading of the sayd sylver and moneyes videlicet in or about the eighth day of
October 1652 this deponent saw the arlate John Martins signe three
bills of one tenor for the aforesayd 2 barrs of sylver of 2[?1]7
markes and 6 ounces, and three bills of lading more of one tenor for the sayd [?2]
barrs of sylver of 243 markes and the 10 baggs of money aforesayd and saith that one
of each tenor was left with the sayd John martins, and two more of
each tenor were taken and kept by the sayd Pedro Calvo, And saith that
the sayd Pedro Calvo afterwards as he told this deponent, sent two of the
sayd bills videlicet of each tenor one to the sayd Paulus Cobrisse to fflanders
and saith that the two bills of lading to the allegation annexed and now
shewne him this deponent were and are two of the sayd originall bills
of lading which this deponent saw signed for the sayd sylver and moneyes
as he hath predeposed. And saith that two other bills of like tenor were
aboard the Saint George att the tyme of seizure, which were since as he
beleiveth brought into the Registry of this Court; and
further saith that the sayd two bills now shewne him were
and are true and reall and signed with the proper handwriting of the
sayd John martins. And further cannot depose.
