The thirtyeth day of August .1653. [CENTRE HEADING]

The Claime of Peter Arangell and John}
de Mann[?r]go for their goods Plate and moneys}
in the shipps the George Sampson and}
the Salvador taken by some of the Parliaments}
ffleet. Smith}

Examined upon an Allegation on the behalfe
of the Claymers.

Lorenzo de Veles of dunkirke in fflanders
merchant aged eight and thirty yeares or
thereabouts a witnes sworne and examined
deposeth and saith as followeth. videlicet.

To the first Article of the sayd Allegation This deponent saith and deposeth
that in the moneth of August September October and November 1652. the sayd Peter
Arangel and John de Mann[?rgo] were and att this present are and ought
to be the true and lawfull Owners and proprietors of the sylver and goods
arlate that is to say of five small packes of sylver conteyning together one
hundred twenty eight peices weighing in the whole one hundred seventy
four markes six ounces and four graines more or lesse marked with
the first marke in the margent, mentioned in the first schedule arlate
and allso of two small packes of sylver conteyning nine peices and
weighing one hundred thirty five markes marked with the sayd
first marke in the margent mentioned in the second schedule arlate
and allso of one small case of sylver conteyning severall sorts or [?peices]
of sylver as boules dishes cups and the like, which case is marked
with the sayd first marke in the margent, and the Cambecha sack
or bag where in the sayd case is putt is marked with the second marke
in the margent mentioned in the third schedule arlate, the premisses
this deponent knoweth to be true for that he this deponent saw all and
singular the before mentioned sylver in the possession of the sayd Arangell
and Mannrga att Mexico in the Indies where they bought the sayd sylver
for their owne use, and for that this deponent knoweth that they brought
the same from the Indies to Cadiz where this deponent saw all the sayd
sylver of the weight whereof he hath predeposed exactly weighed, And
saith that for and as lawfull Owners of the sayd sylver the sayd producents
were and are commonly accounted reputed and taken And otherwise saving
his subsequent depositions he cannot depose.
