To the crosse Interrogatories
To the first hee saith hee belonged to and wsa master of the said shipp
the John Evangelist as aforesaid, and hath bin master of her three yeares
and came first aboard her at Serdam where shee was built, and
where hee hetcht her three yeares since.
To the second hee saith hee knew not the producent till this deponents
coming last to London where hee first sawe him, about 3 weekes since
and hath knowne the interrated ffrancis de la sierpe and Peter Johnson the
yonnger about two yeares at Cadiz, and they the said ffrancis and Peter and this
deponent were often in companie at their house in Cadiz
and the said ffrancis was there aboard this deponents said shipp two
or three times this voyage at Cadiz.
To the third hee saith that the said peeces of eight were sent aboard
by and from the said factors in barkes, And otherwise hee
cannot answer saving as aforesaid.
To the fourth hee saith the said Peter Johnson the yonger dwelleth in
the ffleminge streite and ffrancis de la sierpe in the Commedious
streete in Cadiz. And otherwise hee cannot answer, saving as aforesaid.

To the 8th and 9 hee saith that his Purser took a little note of the said lading
in writing, and that the same was seized amongest the other papers and
is as hee beleeveth amongest them in this Court and otherwise hee
referreth himselfe to the said note and the said bills annexed.

To the 17th hee saith the said shipp began her outward voyage from
Dunquirke thence to Malaga. And otherwise hee cannot depose, saving
the said peece goods were linnens and other goods.
