John Martenson dorp master, mentioned in the said schedule went from Amsterdam
in the moneth of december 1651 or thereabouts, The shipp the keysar or
Cesar therein mentioned in October 1651 or thereabouts from Ostend, The shipp the Salvador
therein mentioned from Amsterdam in the moneth of October 1651 or thereabouts
The Sea fortune from Ostend in the yeare 1651. The Saint John Baptist
from Ostend in the yeare 1652, in or about January or ffebruary newe
stile. The Shipp Saint Albert from Ostend in december 1651 or thereabouts
And saith the said goods soe sent out by the said producent amounted in
valew to twelve or thirteene thousand pounds sterling or thereabouts, not being able to
give the iust valew thereof without sight of the said Factorie booke, which
hee saith is remayning at Antwerp. And otherwise hee cannot answer.

To the 20th hee saith there is noe more or other assurance made upon the
said silver and plate than one thousand pounds flemish [?or] that in each shipp
which hee hath before deposed to be made in the name
of the producent at hamburgh by ffrancis Sloyer unto whom the
producent wrote to assure in his the producents name and for his the
said producents accompt 2000 li flemish on each shipp, but the said
Sloyer [?echanged] word that the praemium was soe high, that hee could
get but 1000 li on each shipp assured; whereupon the producent wrote
to London to Mr John Rouchault merchant to assure for him 1000 li sterling on
each of the said shipps here in London, which said Mr Rouchout wrote
him back worde hhee could not get good assurers therefore, and therefore
did it not. And saith the said assurers at hamburgh were and are
hamburgers and subiects of that State and otherwise negatively.
