Transcription

beleiveth that the sayd thirteen barrs of sylver were att the tyme
of the sayd bringing of the sayde shippe into the ffleet aforesayd and [leising?]
them there aboard the sayd shipp Sampson, and came into the possession
of the Takers[?]. And otherwise to this Interrogatories he cannot depose

To the fifth and sixth Articles of the sayed allegation this deponent saith
that the arlate Lewis ffernandez Angell is by Nation a Spaniard and
this deponent hath knowne him to be an Inhabitant of Caracas in the
West Indies for theis twelve years now past as he hath predeposed
and knoweth him to be a subiect of the King of Spayne arlate. And
further saith that the arlate thirteen barrs of sylver were laden to
and for the proper Accompt of the sayd Lewis ffernandez as he hath
likewise predeposed. And this deponent knoweth not nor beleiveth that
any subiect or subiects of the States of the united Provinces arlate
had any manner of title right or interest therein. And otherwise he cannot
depose.

To the seventh he referreth himselfe to his depositions preceding which
he saith are true and further he cannot depose.

To the first negatively.

To the second he saith he knoweth the Interrate Lewis ffernandez and hath
so done for theis twelve yeares. And saith he is a Spaniard, and lives when
att home, and hath his family att Caracas in the Indies as he hath predeposed
And otherwise he cannot answer or depose.

To the third he saith that the sayd sylver was laden aboard the Sampson in
the bay of Cadize but the particular tyme he cannot exactly call to
mind and this Rendent and the producent were aboard the Sampson
when the same was laden, and he saith there was one then with the sayd
producent whom this deponent cannot particularly remember, but the sayd
sylver was laden for the only Accompt of the sayd producent as he hath
predeposed and otherwise he cannot depose.

To the fourth he saith that the name of the Lader[?] interrate is Lewis
ffernandez Angell, the producent, and is a Spaniard and the sayd sylver
was laden in the day tyme, the Master of Captaine of the shipp Sampson
being then aboard and present, but the Purser Pedro de Campo [?] the
same. And otherwise he cannot depose.

To the fifth and sixth he saith and doth not know or beleive that the bill of lading Interate
and now showne him is false colourable or fictitious, but beleiveth the same
was and is made according to the truth and verity of the matter therein
expressed, and saith that he this Rendent saw the sayd Pedro de Campo
the Purser aforsayd firme the same in the bay of Cadize about
the month of September not being able to [call?] to mynd the very
particular day when the same was done. And further he cannot depose.

To the seventh and eighte he saith that the arlate sylver now claymed
was laden by the very same person whom the Bill of lading mentioned[?]
and by noe other person this Deponent saving him lade[?] the same as he
hath predeposed and otherwise to [] of this Interrate he knoweth
not to depose.

To the nynth he saith he cannot depose.
