with the propper hand of him ths deponent, the contents whereof
are true and were so had and done as therein is conteyned, to
which for further clearing of the truth herein hee referreth himselfe
And further cannot depose.
To the 7th hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeinge deposition And
otherwise cannot depose.
To the 8th hee saith that as the said ship was with the said silver and
plate now claimed saileing from Cadiz towards Dunquirke the Port
for her discharge thereof shee was mett withall surprized and taken
by some of the ships in the ymediate service of this Comonwealth
att which tyme all the said silver was on bord her and came to the
hands and possession of the said takers thereof as allsoe two of the said
bills of ladeing, which this deponent had then on bord with him which are
since brought into and left in the REgistry of this Court And further
cannot depose.
To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true.

To the Interrogatories [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first Interrogatorie hee saith that hee this deponent hath bin
Commander of the said shippe by the space of these [BLANK IN MANUSCRITPT] yeares
and was on bord her when shee was taken. And further cannot
depose./.
To the second third fowrth and 5.th Interrogatories. hee saith that hee doeth very
well knowe both the producent and the Interrogated Peter Janson the lader
of the silver now claimed which said Janson is of this deponents knowledge
the factor and correspondent of the producent and a fflandrian by
birth and was in this deponents company when the silver now claimed was
laden which hee saith was part in the day tyme and part towards the Eevening
And otherwise saveing his foregoeing deposition hee saith hee cannot depose.
To the 6th hee saith that the said bills of ladeing were signed by
this deponent on shore at or about such tyme as the said silver now claimed
was laden on bord the said shippe. And otherwise saveing his
foregoing deposition hee saith hee cannot depose
To the 7th hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition And otherwise
answereth negatively.
To the 8th 9th and 10th Interrogatories hee saith that the said party by whom
the said Plate and silver was laden did enter the same into a Booke under
the markes and as laden for the accompt predeposed which booke and the said
bills of ladeing doe agree And saith that by the etters NB' interrogated
hee supposeth the person and name of the producent is meant. And
otherwise cannot depose.
To the 11th and 12th hee referreth himselfe to his foregoing deposition
And otherwise cannot depose./.
To the 13th hee answereth negatively.
