Transcription

The 30th of January 1653.

The Lord Protector of the Commonwealth}
of England Scotland and Ireland and the}
Dominions thereto belonging against a}
certaine vessell named the House of Egmont}

Examined upon an allegation given in on the
behalfe of his said highnes the Lord
Protector et cetera.

Rowe dt.

John Long of Redriffe in the County of
Surrie Shipwright, aged 30 yeares or thereabouts
sworne and examined saith as followeth videlicet.

which
hee knoweth having dwelt about 16 yeares in Holland and there using the
said trade of a shipwright all that while, and first learning his said trade
there and saith shee is evident to any skilfull shipwright to be Hollands
built, especially to one that hath lived longe in the countrey to whome this [?XXXX] to knowe
her upon the first viewe to be Hollands built...
