Transcription
To the fifth hee saith that at the time of the said seizure there was noe other
shipp or vessell neere or in sight of the said Bowd[?an] vessell and the Saint John
aforesaid, And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the [XXXXX] hee is not examined by direction of mr Suckly.
To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first hee saith hee is spoken to by mr Suckly to come and testifie
the truth in this busines, and shall gaine nothing therein but his due [XXXXX]
the said vessell the John which belongeth to him this deponent, but hee hath
noe share in the coales.
To the second hee saith hee hath knowne and had the said vessell the John ever
since the time of her building, which was about a yeare since, this deponent
causinge her to be built at Saint Omers in [?Artois] in the dominion of the
kinge of Spaine for his owne sole accompt.
To the last hee saith that hee sawe the said coales laden by the [?vandenbrooke]
out of a Stonehouse in fflushing aboard the said vessell, and was present
at the said ladinge, and otherwise hee cannot answer saving his
foregoeing deposition.

Adrian Clinkard of fflushing in zealand Sail[?er]
aged 26 yeares or thereabouts, sworne and examined.
To the first article hee saith and deposeth that hee well knoweth the arlate
Nicholas Clinkard, and that of his this deponents sight and certaine
knowledge hee the said Nicholas caused the vessell the Saint John arlate to be
built at Saint Omers in Artois in the dominion of the kinge of Spaine
about a yeare since for his owne accompt, and ever since her said building hee the said
Clinkard the producent hath bin and is the sole owner and master of
her, this deponent being acquainted with his defraying the charge of her
building with money for which hee sold another vessell, and for sole owner
of her hee was and is commonly accompted and reputed, And further saith
that of this deponents certaine sight and knowledge the said producent
hath lived in and bin an Inhabitant of fflushing for theise foure yeares
last and upwards, for three yeares last and upwards of which time hee
this examinate hath dwelt with him there.
To the second hee saith that hee alsoe well knoweth the arlate vandenbrooke
and saith hee was and is alsoe an Inhabitant of fflushing and keepeth his
wife children and family there, and hath soe donne for all the time of
this deponents knowledge of him which hath bin for about two yeares last
and both hee and the said Clinkard were and are subiects of the States of
the United Netherland Provinces, And otherwise hee cannot depose.
Upon the rest hee is not examined by direction of the producents proctor.

To the first hee cometh required by the producent to testifie in this cause
as a witnes, for which hee is not promised ought, nor expecteth benefit or
losse thereby, having noe part either in shipp or goods.
To the second hee hath satisfied the same [XXXX].
To the third hee saith hee did not see the coales interrogated laden, and
otherwise hee cannot answer.
