  • Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

reth that shee doeth not beleeve the
same to bee true in any parte./

The personall answers of John
davy made to the pretensed
positions and articles of a certaine
allegation given against him on the
behalfe of Nicholas Gold, and others
as followeth./

To the first pretensed position he answereth
that savinge his answers followeinge he doth
not beleeve the said perused position to bee
true in any parte savinge this respondent
beleeveth that he this rendent haveinge
intelligence, and information from some
freind of his at Exeter that there was some
hazard and danger in sendinge of goods
to Saint Maloes in his owne name beinge
an Englishman in regard there had beene
severall arrests made of Englishmens goods
by ffrench men for satisfaction of pretended
iniuries dine unto them by the English he
this respondent did defactor by the advice
aforesaid after the ladeinge of this
respondents goods in this cause controverted
and after he had entred the same in the
Custome house att Exeter for his owne
accompt write a letter unto one Mr
