1. say that hee did speake to the sayd Kennett to lend the Maryes
2. Company his shipps boate, and to looke after the Mary and that
3. hee offered the sayd Kennetts Company five pounds to goe with
4. the sayd boate, and helpe to preserve the Mary which as the sayd
5. Somerland told this deponent, the sayd Kennet and his Company refused
6. to doe, And hee this deponent well knoweth that the sayd Kennett
7. and Company did ˹not˺ lend their boate nor any way assiste the Master
8. and Company of the Mary fo to recover and save the sayd shipp And
9. further to this article hee cannot depose/
10. To the 8th hee saith that hee this deponent and his precontest Thomas
11. Somerland and one Complin were ˹upon the XXX XXXXXXX˺ upon the watch in the Mary about the GUTTER
12. tyme when the dammage ˹predeposed of˺ happened and thereby knoweth that the
13. sayd Kennett and Company did not call out unto the Company of
14. the Mary till they were soe neere her with their shipp the Saint Jacob
15. that the dammage aforesayd could not by the Master and company
16. of the Mary bee any way prevented though all possible diligence
17. was used by this deponent and the sayd Somerland and Complin to
18. have prevented the same, And this deponent saith the dammage
19. aforesayd happened meerely by the negligence of the sayd
20. Kennett and Company and by their not giving tymely notice of their
21. being neere, and by their steereing southwards as aforesayd And

24. happened there was on board the Mary a stock of money which
25. as hee hath heard, was sixteene pounds sterling, and ˹saith˺ that the tackle
26. apparrell and furniture aboard the Mary at the tyme aforesayd was in
27. this deponents Judgment worth fourescore pounds and better XXX of
28. like money, and that the hull of the sayd shipp at the same tyme
29. was worth above a hundred pounds of like money And saith XX GUTTER
30. by occasion of the sayd shipp the Saint Jacob her running fowle of the
