1. Allen marchants of London to hoope and make fitt twelve hogsheads of Copperis
2. to be laden on board the shipp the Julian which hogsheads (as the sayd Alderman
3. Johnsons man told this deponent) the arlate Anthony Tither had bought of the
4. sayd Johnson and Allen, and this deponent accordingly did hoope them and make
5. them fitt and Merchantable to be sent aboard the sayd shipp, and sawe them by porters
6. put on board a lighter in XX Saviours dock neere ther Stepdowne donne to be carried
7. and put on board the sayd shipp and saith hee knoweth they were accordingly
8. laden on board the sayd shipp for that the sayd shipp ˹shortly˺ after they were
9. soe laden on board her did sinke with the sayd Copper twelve hogsheads
10. of Copperis in her and the sayd hogsheads of Copperis being thereby
11. much wasted and damnified this deponent did by an order under the hand
12. of the sayd Anthony Tether XX demande and receave from the arlate
13. Richard Bryan the sayd twelve hogsheads, (the Copperis conteyned in them
14. being by reason of the sayd shipps sinkeing and the wett they had receaved
15. the most part of it melted and consumed soe that there was XXX (of this
16. deponents sight and certaine knowledge) about the quantitie only of one
17. hogshead and a halfe of the sayd twelve hogsheads of Copperis remayning
18. and saith hee this deponent did by order of the sayd Tether take from
19. on board the sayd shipp the sayd 12 hogsheads and soe much copperis as
20. remayned in them and caused them to be brought on shoare at Saviours
21. Dock aforesayd, where after they were landed this deponents father
22. Symon dryser a Cooper did XXX by order of the sayd Tether dispose of
23. the Copperis which soe remayned in the sayd caske which was about a
24. hogshead and a halfe XXX and sold the same for the use and Accompt of the
25. sayd Tether and unto one Johnathan Welch and this deponents father the empty
26. caske the sayd Tether sold and disposed of to this deponents sayd father the
27. sayd Symon Driver, And further to those articles hee cannot depose
28. not knowing in what condition the sayd shipp was at such tyme as the
29. sayd Copperis was shipped on board her nor what words passed betwixt
30. the sayd Tether and the sayd shipps company at the tyme of the ladeing the
31. same a board the sayd shipp, nor seeing the same put on board her, but only
32. seeing it put into the liter as aforesayd to be shipped, and afterwards receiving
33. the same from on board the sayd shipp in manner aforesayd./
34. To the 7th hee cannot depose not knowing the custome or order in such
35. case as is arlate/
36. To the 8th saving his foregoeing deposition to which, hee referreth hee cannot
37. depose./
38. To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true/

41. To the first Interrogatorie hee saith hee was none of the Company of the Julian
42. now present at ladeing the Copperis Interrate into her And further saving
43. his foregoeing deposition hee cannot answere./
44. To the 2 hee answereth negatively videlicet that hee was not present at any tyme when
45. the sayd Tether and Bryan spake togeather touching the ladeing the copperis aforesayd
46. And further he cannot answere./
