To the first (and 2nd) Article of the said Allegation he saith and deposeth, That hee this Deponent hath knowne the shipp the ''Dolphin'' alias the ''ffortune'' or ''hopewell?'' of Sunderland ever since about 5 or 6 yeares since, at which time shee belonged to the port of Sunderland, and was then under the Command of one Sampson Nicholson, who in or about the moneth of November 1653 lawfully? sold and disposed of the said wessell to the arlate Richard Le Bas and Peter Knight Merchants living here in London, who constituted one Robbins to be Master and Commander of her for their use and accompte and so much the said Robbins did sewall times intimate say and declare her their Deponent both here at London and in ffrance, and that the Said Le Bas and Knight were the true and lawfull Owners of the Same or to that effect as also by the declaration of the Said Richard Le Bas, who shortly after the buying of the Said wessel desired this deponent to take the Care and Conduct of her upon him, which this Deponent then refused as being then the provider? of another wessel, And saith That shortly after this Deponent sailed in Command with the said wessel (the Said Robbins Master) towards the Coast of ffrance, and afterwards saw her at Caen, the said Robbins then Being dispossessed of her by order of her said Owner at (…?) there generally? reported the said wessel then being under the Command of a fflemish Skipp, But what passed at Caen comprising the sale of ¾ parts of the said shipp, as is alleadged this Deponent saith he doeth not know, nor is at all acquainted with any such transaction. And further hee cannot depose.

examined upon the said allegation.
