1655.

The 27th of March 1655. [CENTRE HEADING]

The claime of the said Balthazar and John}
Coymans for the Saint Mary aforesaid and goods}

Examined upon the foresaid allegation.

dt. 2.

Peter Gurlero of Genoa Mariner, late Gunner
of the said shipp the Saint Mary, aged 32 yeares
or thereabouts sworne and examined.

To the first and second articles hee saith and deposeth that hee well knoweth the
producents Balthazar and John Coymans and hath soe donne for theise
thirteene monethes last or thereabouts, during all which space hee saith they
have bin and are as hee beleeveth the true and lawfull owners and proprietors of the said shipp
and of her tackle and furniture, and for such commonly accompted, for hee
saith they sett her out from Amsterdam to goe to the Canarie Ilands, and
fitted and furnished her for that voyage; of his sight and knowledg, hee
going out Gunner of her, on which voyage shee proceeded from Amsterdam
in our about the middle of March 1653, namely somewhat above a yeere
since. And further that they laded severall packs of goods in her for the
Canaries to be there delivered to their factor, but the number of the packs
hee remembreth not, And saith the said shipp and goods safely arived at
the Canaries, and there the said packs were delivered ashore.
And otherwise hee cannot depose.
