as aforesaid, and not the ''Mary Rose'' of her<br />
And the ''Mary Rose'' did not (as hee saith) take away<br />
the winde from the ''John'' the said time; And saith the<br />
''John'' so came foule of the ''Mary Rose'' by her [?XXXX GUTTER]<br />
as aforesaid and not by any default of or in the master<br />
or Company of the ''Mary Rose'' or of any of them. And<br />
saith that the said Laniard of the ''John'' was Cutt to<br />
cleare the said two ships, and the Cutting the<br />
said Laniard was all the damage that came or happened<br />
to the ''John'' by means of her comeing and being<br />
foule of the ''Mary Rose'' that this Deponent did or could<br />
perceive; and the ''Mary Rose'' being Cleered sailed on<br />
her Course, and left the ''John'' ryding at Anchor in<br />
safety in about four or five fathoms of water, and<br />
the ''Mary Rose'' never touched the ''John'' after the said time<br />
and saith that when the ''John'' came foule of the ''Mary''<br />
''Rose'', and during all the time they were foule together<br />
the ''Mary Rose'' was nearer the shore than the ''John''<br />
and when she was cleered shee passed betwixt the<br />
''John'' and the shore, and the ''Mary Rose'' her sterne [?touched GUTTER]<br />
the Ground at and before she was cleered and was in<br />
great danger thereby, but by the care and paines<br />
her Company (and Gods Blessing thereon) shee was<br />
gott off and sailed on her Course, and left the<br />
''John'' Ryding at Anchor in safety as aforesaid The<br />
Premisses he deposeth for the reasons aforesaid And<br />
further hee cannot depose/:
To the 6th and 7th hee saith that the ''Mary Rose'' did not [?XX GUTTER]<br />
home the Anchor of the ''John'' the sayd time, neither<br />
could shee doe there being then but little winde<br />
and a Slack tide. And saith that if the ''John'' [[?aforesaid GUTTER]<br />
came aground, the same came not nor happened<br />
by any default of or in the Master or any of the Company<br />
of the ''Mary Rose'', and saith the ''John'' was soe [?left GUTTER]<br />

And saith that if the ''John'' had bin a stronger ship<br />
though she had come on ground shee might have bin [?got GUTTER]<br />
oft without much preiudice if her master and Company had<br />
taken out Coles out of her, and tooke care of her [?as GUTTER]<br />
they should have done and done and is as usual in [?such GUTTER]<br />
