Transcription by meanes of the sayd disaster leake oyle by meanes of the sayd disaster leake oyle out of them but to what<br /> quantities or the value he knoweth not the premisses hee deposeth<br /> being on board and an eye wittnesse And further to this article hee cannot depose./ To the 6th hee saith that by reason of the disaster aforesyd he well<br /> knoweth the ''Pilgrim'' was soe hurt before and dammified ?briused and dammified<br /> that she was unfitt to goe to Sea till she were<br /> repaired of the hurt she receaved by meanes thereof<br /> the sayd Bland and company were enforced to put her and did put her<br /> into a dock to be repayred of the sayd hurt soe received And further<br /> to the article hee cannot depose not knowing nor having heard what<br /> the repayres thereof came to./ To the 7th hee cannot depose./ To the 8th hee saith hee referreth himselfe to the Registrie of this<br /> Court and further to this article hee cannot depose./ To the 9th hee saith hee beleeveth the arlate Nordfin and company<br /> are subjects of the Commonwealth and subiect to the jurisdicion<br /> of this Court and further hee cannot depose/ To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true./ To the Interregatorries [CENTRE HEADING] To the first hee saith hee cometh to testifie the truth of his knowledge<br /> in this cause being soe requested by the producents Bland and Watkins<br /> and saith hee was Masters Mate of the ''Pilgrim'' and hath nor had any relations<br /> to the sayd Bland or Watkins asve as he was Masters Mate as aforesayd To the 2nd hee saith that the ''Exter Merchant'' was cut loose<br /> and turned adrift, but beleeveth if the Master of her and her company<br /> had done their diligence by presently letting fall an Anchor they might<br /> have avoided falling fowle of the ''Pilgrim'' And further hee<br /> cannot answer not knowing nor having heard who cut her loose/ To the 3 hee saith the ''Pilgrim'' ride by and anchor of her owne to the<br /> Northward and could not by any meanes avoide the Exeter Merchant<br /> falling fowle of her and the rest of the Interrogaorie hee answereth<br /> negatively./ To the 4th hee saith the rayle of the head of the ''Pilgrim'' was broken at<br /> sea before shee came into the River of Thames but the mayne knee of<br /> her was whole until such tyme it was broken by the ''Exeter Merchant''<br /> and saith the Pilgrim was leakie at sea before the disaster aforesayd<br /> happened, but not soe leakie as shee was afterwards And further to<br /> this Interrogatorie hee cannot answer not knowing nor having heard ought effect<br /> thereof./g heard ought effect<br /> thereof./  +
