of the ''William and Thomas'' and ''Mary Rose'' (who were freighted by the tonne) did receave their<br />
whole freight for their ladeings as if they had brought the same to London this hee<br />
knoweth for that hee sawe parte of the money for freight paid to the Master of the sayd shipp<br />
''Mary Rose'' and heard him acknowledge hee had receaved the whole freight, and hee<br />
this rendent did receave the greatest part of the fright (sic) for the ''William and Thomas''. And further<br />
hee cannot answere/
To the 10th hee saith there is usually paid for goods outward bound to any of the places<br />
interrogate these rates following videlicet 5 dollers for a bayle of cloath 1 doller and a<br />
hafe for very barrell of tinne, halfe a doller for every pigg of lead, and 3 dollers<br />
for every bagg of pepper, and homeward bound from Cyprus or Scanderoone<br />
as followeth 7 ''li'' a tonne for silke and grogeram yarne, 6 ''li'' a tonne for Cottons and<br />
4 ''li'' a tonne for galls And further hee cannot answere./
To the 10th hee saith hee knoweth that there as a protest read at the mayne mast<br />
of the ''Thomas Bonadventure'' against the Interrogated Captaine hughes for refuseing and being unwilling<br />
to serve in the service Interrogate and the like was read at the masts of the shipps<br />
''William and Thomas'' and ''Mary Rose'' against their Captaines for their like unwillingnesse<br />
and refusall And further hee cannot answere/
To the 11th hee saith hee sawe Thwe ''Thomas Bonadventures''<br />
Company unlading their goods at the Lazaretto at Portp fferrara as alsoe the ''William and Thomas''<br />
and ''Mary Rose'' did theirs, but whether the ''Bonadventure'' unladed all hee knoweth<br />
not And further hee cannot answere./
To the 12th hee saith hee sawe divers of the goods of the ''William and Thomas''<br />
and of the ''Mary Rose'' weighed at Porto fferrara some whereof held out with the ffactories and some<br />
did not but how much they came short hee knoweth not. And further hee<br />
cannot answere./
To the 13th hee saith there is noe other place at Porto fferrara for dischargeing any<br />
goods but the Lazaretta which is the designed place to that end/
To the 14th hee saith hee knoweth not nor ever heard any thing of such a letter<br />
as is Interrogated, but the letter Interrogate being shewed him at this his<br />
examination And hee well acquainted with the hand writeing both of Norleigh and<br />
Constable whose names are subscribed thereto by reason hee hath had often<br />
correspondence with both of them, hee doth verily beleeve the letter shewed unto<br />
him and the subscription to bee all the sayd Norleighs owne handwriteing And<br />
further hee cannot answere./
To the 16th hee saith hee cannot answere knowing nothing touching the contents<br />
thereof neither doth it concerne him to answere thereto, the same being directed [?only]<br />
