sayd article and therefore cannot depose thereto/
To the 18th hee saith that the place where the pretended examinations arlate<br />
were writtem was a Taverne in Portsmouth and was full of Cupps<br />
and [?polls] with wine in them when the sayd pretended Examinations were<br />
in writeing, and hee saith that hee this deponent) being the arlate<br />
Herman Goris) did then saye that, was not nt a place fitt for<br />
examination, and that hee this deponent would goe up to<br />
London and be examined in the Admiralty Court there, and hee saith<br />
this deponent did thereupon refuse to sett his hand to a pretended<br />
Examination of this deponent which was there drawne up,<br />
And further to this article hee cannot depose saving hee saith the<br />
arlate Captaine Saunders, and this deponent, and the rest of the company<br />
who were there about takeing the sayd Examinations, were<br />
freely merrie togeather and dranke often each to each other while the<br />
sayd pretended examinations were in takeing,/
To the 19th hee saith hee for his part did not charge the arlate<br />
Lemo that hee should not say any thing upon his examination,<br />
nor had any conference with him touching his examination,<br />
And further hee cannot depose./
To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true./
