Malloes the tyme Interrogate nor knowing ought touching the ladeing of the [?Contra]<br />
Interrogated./
To the 5 Interrogatorie hee cannot answere knowing nothing touching any part of the contents<br />
thereof./
To the 6th Interrogatorie hee saith for the reasons in his foregoeing deposition declared<br />
hee is verily perswaded in his conscience that the five ballotts of Canvas<br />
or linnen predeposed of doe really belonge to the sayd Ceely and Prigg and<br />
not to any ffrench man of subiect of the ffrench King And further to<br />
this Interrogatorie hee cannot answere./
To the 7th hee saith hee knoweth nothing touching the contents thereof./
To the 8th Interrogatorie hee saith hee beleeveth at the tyme Interrogated it was a thing publiquely<br />
taken notice of in ffrance that there was warrs betweene the ffrench and<br />
the Spaniard, but saith hee well knoweth that the ffrench paying tenn pounds per Cent to the<br />
King of Spaine for permission money had as free liberty to traffique in<br />
Spaine then, with any commodities of the manufacture or growth of ffrance as<br />
any other Nation whatsoever had for the like commodities relateing to ffrance<br />
And further hee cannot answere otherwise then negatively./
To the 9th saving his foregoeing deposition hee cannot answere knowing<br />
nothing touching the contents of this Interrogatorie more then what hee hath predeposed./
To the 10th hee saith hee knoweth nothing touching the contents thereof./
To the 11th hee saith hee beleeveth the goods claymed are of the growth and manifacture (sic)<br />
of ffrance And further hee cannot answere/
