To the 6th hee cannot answere knowing nothing thereof./

To the 7th hee saith hee hath heard that some ill disposed persons have sometymes
cutt off boyes and their roapes from Anchors of shipps rideing in the River of Thames
without the knowledge of the Masters and companyes of such shipps, and hath heard that
some have bin taken soe doeing and punished for the same And further to this
Interrogatorie hee cannot answere./

To the 8th hee saith hee was not on board the tyme Interrate./

To the 9th saving his foregoeing deposition to which hee referreth hee cannot answere
otherwise than negatively:/

To the 10th hee answereth negatively to every part thereof./

To the 11th it concerneth him not for that hee hath not deposed any thing touching
thecontents thereof./

To 12th: 13th and 14th hee cannot answere knowing nothing nor haveing heard ought
touching the contents of them./

To the last hee saith hee hath satisfied the contents thereof before soe farr as hee can/

William Powney of Saint James Garlick hithe London
Cittizen and Woodmonger of London aged 40 yeares
or thereabouts a wittnes sworne and examined saith and
deposeth as followeth videlicet./

To the 15th article of the sayd libell hee saith that in the moneth of
October last past and the very day next before the damage in question
happened hee this deponent did buy of the arlate John Bayly forty
chalder of Coales (part of his ladeing hee had then on board his shipp
the Imployment) and did contract and agree with sayd Bayly to pay him
for the sayd Coales the rate of twenty three pounds tenn shillings
sterling a score, and in pursuance of the same bargaine, the sayd Bayly
did the same day deliver to this deponent in to a lighter nyne chalder of
the sayd Coales by him this deponent soe bought, which coales were then
drye and well conditioned And this deponent sending lighters the next day
to receive the remaynder of the Coales by him soe bought and some of
them being put into one of the lighters this deponent did see and observe that
the sayd Coales were then very much damnified by water receaved
into the sayd shipp (which happened as this deponent heard amongst lightermen
and others who had bin labouring to unlade coales out of the sayd shipp to lighten
her
